Hayley and Evan and there baby son Clayton are an aspiring farming family whose passion for cultivation of nutritionally dense food and market gardening lead them to create their farm King of the Woods.

 

King of the Woods Farm recently expanded their operation to 800 linear feet of garden space and they are also working towards starting the process of getting Certified Organic.  King of the Woods grows most summer crops including tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, beans, eggplant and greens.  Along with many other crops, they also seasonally grow mushrooms in the green house.

Farmer Hayley has a background in dance and personal training. As a graduate of Joffery Ballet School and certifications in Personal Training with Inferno Hot Pilates Instruction. Hayley brings an energetic and inspired style to the farm. She grew up having a love for the dirt and watching plants grow, this passion has encouraged her to pursue farming with her husband Evan. 

 

Recently, Hayley has completed the Farm Biz Seminar through Sierra Harvest and is highly motivated and passionate about providing a the community with wonderful produce as a farming mother.

Farmer Evan is an artist who has graduated from Humboldt State University with a Bachelors Degree in Art and Geography. His interest in plants and mushrooms grew from a hobby to a small business. Evan finds the connection with plants, soils, and mushrooms as an integral part of being alive and having a healthy lifestyle.
